James’ log cabin quilt

I am feeling really happy I have found a marvellous, crafty Tweeter, Jenny Cooper. She has finished my quilt for me. We both have a passion for sewing and it is great to talk about sewing to someone without boring them.

I made a log cabin quilt 13 years ago for my young son. I used pieces of fabric from an old skirt and some curtains. I was worried about the pink for a boy. It lay languishing in my loft and needed to be put together and finally finished.

I am thrilled with the result. Memories came flooding back of my patchwork and quilting classes in Tiptree in the 90 s with some amazing women. We made beautiful decorations, antique china dolls in my kitchen not to mention all the quilts. We swapped stories, beads, materials and made friendships and put the world to rights.
